I'm still here

believe it or not. I know I haven't posted anything in a while, but it has been a busy time of year. I have another system I am trying to finish out a system that I am installing while doing the electrical on it as well.

I was watching the local news the other night and it was saying that South Carolina is one of the states with the highest crime rate in it. It's too bad to have that kind of rating to boast (if you can call it boasting). Of coarse a video surveillance system can not stop a crime from happening, but it sure helps to be able to try to see who it was that committed the crime. We have many different systems you can choose from on our Video Surveillance Systems page.

It just keeps growing...

Crime rates that is. I saw on the local news station that there have been almost 100 car break ins since Oct. 9, 2008. I thought that I was just being paranoid when I installed a video surveillance system on my house, but after reading all the new headlines, I am feeling a little more secure now. It is nice to know that even in the dark, my cameras can see what is going on. You can see some of the cameras on my cameras page. If you have a big order, I will work with you more on the price. Contact me on my website.

More thefts

I had tried to sign up for an email from the local police department the other week in the Greenville, SC area so I could keep up with the crime in the local area. Since I don't live within the Greenville city limits, I can't receive the email updates, but it doesn't really matter since most of it is on the news anyway.

I just finished watching a news story on how people are still getting their A/C-Heat Pump units stolen these days. Since scrap copper brings in a lot of money in today's market, more people are finding that their Heat Pump or A/C doesn't work anymore only to find out the reason why is because their unit was stolen from outside. Since the outside unit works to cool the freon inside the unit, it has a copper coil that many people steal to bring them in about $50 to $100 in scrap metal.

I have a small USB DVR that anyone can purchase with up to 4 cameras to make a 4 camera system that won't break you in the process. I don't have it posted on my website yet, but I will try to get it there soon. With this set up, you can have a video surveillance system at your home for for under $1000.

Phone Call

I received a phone call today from one of the local TV stations' marketing department. The lady was wanting me to place an ad on the local TV station to promote my business. She had told me something that I knew takes place everyday even in Smalltown USA, but it doesn't really cross your mind everyday. Here in Greenville, SC on Monday night, there were 4 robberies that took place. Even the small towns are not as safe as they used to be. I remember when I was small that even back then my Grandmother used to sleep with her back door unlocked! Amazing how if you did that in today's time, you'd probably wake up to an uninvited guest. However, with a video surveillance system, you would have a recording of anything that happened at your house or business, even if you were not there. With most systems that we sell, you would even be able to check in on your home or business over the internet!

Changing weather

As the weather gets ready to change, and it gets colder, many people will begin to start their cars in the morning to warm it up. However, if you don't have a second set of keys to use, many people just leave them unlocked while they return to the warmth of their house. With crime rates continuing to climb, this will be an easy target for criminals on those cold mornings. While a video surveillance system may not prevent the lose of a car, it sure can capture the person stealing it. With most of the cameras that we sell, you can "see-in-the-dark" with these cameras. Check out all our systems and cameras at our website Video Surveillance Source. You can choose from a pre-planed system, or you can customize a system to fit your needs.

Sorry for the long delay....

With the economy being in the shape it has been, I have had little time to get on here. Even though it is slowing down, I have been extremely busy. I have been looking through the news lately and there was a big theft just today. The thing was, the theft occurred right behind the place of business to the tune of $5000 worth of jeans. I heard that they are planning to get a video surveillance system installed within the next week or so. Had they had one installed previously, they may have been able to find out who stole their merchandise.

If you're concerned with this economy and want a system, go to http://www.videosurveillance1.com to order a system for yourself.

Job almost completed

The last job I did is almost complete. The hidden cameras I installed are working great for the costumer, but they aren't quite catching everything he wants to see. I am having to order 3 new hidden cameras to install in the areas he wants covered. Hoping to have this system wrapped up within a 2 week period since most of my products come direct from the factory. I do have other items that are ordered within the US, and you can see any of them by going to my website at http://www.videosurveillance1.com. There are a few special order items there, but most of them I can get to you within a couple of days since most of it is ordered here in the US.

System installation update

Well, the system is in and almost complete. When I got started again on Saturday, they decided to add 2 more cameras. Then I also noticed some of the drivers were not installed in the computer which I will try to solve one evening this week. I installed some cool hidden cameras that I will try to post on the website soon, but you can still see other hidden cameras that I have by going to my hidden cameras page. I have been pretty busy lately so I haven't had too much time to update the website. Maybe a day or two this week I will be able to do that.

Update on systems install.....

I thought I would update you on the installation progress of this system I am installing. The client wanted hidden cameras in the building, so I had gotten some cool hidden cameras for them. The lens actually looks like a phillips screw head. Being a metal building, I was able to drill a small hole in some of the building beams and conceal the cameras from sight. Before even telling the client where the cameras were, I had them to look for them. After 5 minutes of searching, they still couldn't find them and I had to show them where they were. While I don't have these posted on my website right now, look for them within the next week or so. You can see all the other hidden cameras I sell by going to my Hidden Camera Page. If you have another idea for a hidden camera, you can contact me and I will see what I can do to get you a camera hidden in whatever you would like.

Cool Anti-Terrorism Handbook

While I was on vacation last week, I bought a small book titled Anti-Terrorism Handbook. I thought it would be nice to include some of the steps included in that book, so I got permission to do that. In the weeks to follow, I will be reading that book and posting some of the things the author suggests. Look for some tips in the coming weeks.

Amazing....

My family and I are on vacation in Pigeon Forge, Tn for the 4th of July week. I was looking at the local news station for Knoxville, Tn, and I was noticing that catalytic converter thefts in the Knoxville area are really high as well. I don't know what it is like elsewhere in the country, but it seems to be pretty bad off in the Southeast from what I am seeing. The story I am relating to here is at a local church in the Knoxville area where thieves stole catalytic converters out of 5 church vans. Still another reason that a surveillance system from us would help. Check out our systems at Video Surveillance Source.

Another reason for surveillance systems.....

It is amazing to watch the news everyday as there are more and more ways that people are trying to make extra money. Thanks to the higher prices at the gas pump, people are trying their hand at scrap metals and the likes. Case in point the newest item to be stolen in the Upstate of South Carolina area..... catalytic converters. Yes, I said it right, the very catalytic converter that you find on your vehicle. Since a catalytic converter contains platinum, you can get some good money if you take them to the scrap yard. An electrical supply house had 4 of them stolen the other night from their delivery trucks.

The good thing about our cameras are, that they are indoor/outdoor day/NIGHT cameras. These cameras have infrared leds on them so that you can see in total darkness. Check out our cameras at http://www.videosurveillance1.com/cameras to see more information on these cameras.

Neighborhood Watch

I was looking at the local news today, and there is a neighborhood around the Greenville, SC area that is looking into a video surveillance system for the neighborhood streets. Just last week a 19 year old woman was attacked and raped while she was jogging. There are many things you can do with a video surveillance system, just thing how safe you could help make your own neighborhood by installing a system at your house. With our systems, you can either install them yourself, or have someone with a little knowledge to install it for you. With the way things are going on in today's world, it seems more that you will be seeing more of these systems being installed.

Contact us at tssales@bellsouth.net for a system for your house today!

Reason number 1 for a video surveillance system at home.

Over the course of the last few weeks, I have lost count of how many home invasions have taken place in the Upstate of South Carolina area. A lot of people probably think that a surveillance system costs too much for them at home, but your safety can never have a value placed on it. A surveillance system will give the police a good picture of the person or persons doing things that should not be done. The most recent home invasion took place on February 17, 2008 where a woman was cut over 200 times with broken glass from a man that invaded her home looking for money. The police caught him, but a surveillance system would have made it too easy for police to have identified the the person who did that.

Consider one for your home today. The computer based systems are fairly easy to install. Almost anyone can do it with some time.
